Data handling & In-memory privacy
When you upload a CSV, XLSX, or ZIP file, ShareTax parses the statement contents in memory and immediately discards the raw file bytes. Only the extracted trade records (date, code, platform, quantity, price, brokerage, currency, FX rate) are persisted.
Your original files are never saved or stored on any server disk or cloud bucket.
Registered Tax Agent status
ShareTax is not a registered tax agent under the Tax Agent Services Act 2009 (Cth) and does not provide tax agent services.
ShareTax is a computational software tool designed to calculate Australian Capital Gains Tax figures based exclusively on the records you import.
Tax File Number (TFN) privacy
ShareTax does not collect, store, or require your Tax File Number (TFN). Please do not provide your TFN or any other sensitive government identification.

ShareTax is a Capital Gains Tax calculation software provider. We do not handle, transfer, hold, or custody client funds or digital assets. We do not provide designated services under the Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Act 2006 (AML/CTF Act) and are not a reporting entity.
Our Terms of Service strictly prohibit using ShareTax to facilitate tax fraud or obscure illicit funds. Report any compliance concerns to compliance@sharetax.com.au.
